After clicked activate button in 1st step, you will redirect to mobile no registration page ( 2nd Step ) automatically. Now you need to register your mobile number to receive notification in sms. First select the country and select the Network Operator of your cell phone. Now type the char 'f' without quote in your cell and send it to number displays in screen. Mostly it display the number 9232232665. It may be chargeable based on network operator. After sent the character 'f', you will receive confirm code in your mobile. Type that code in confirmation code text box. Tick the check box 'add this phone to my profile' if you like. Finally click 'Activate text message' button. Suddenly you will receive the status message in your cell. Now you successfully registered your mobile no in facebook.

After clicked 'Activate text message' button. you will redirect to mobile settings of your facebook account automatically. Here you can select the notification what you like to get in sms and finally click save preference. If you have more friends in facebook account means, you will get lot of sms in your cell and may chance to irritate to you. To avoid this problem facebook provide some wonderful features.
- You can receive notification from particular friend.
- You can set the time to receive the notification sms and more.
- You can off this sms notification at any time and more options available to set.
To change /edit /modify the mobile or sms settings just go to Account -> Account Settings > Mobile.
Already facebook provide the option to receive notification in email. If you receive same notification in email and sms means , sure its waste. So you can set important notification in sms and some other notification in email. Setting notification by comparing email and sms is more easy to set the notification. To set , just go to Account -> Account Settings > Notification. Here you can set the notification by comparing email and sms notification.
